The evening of 6th June 2014 at Cambridge School, Mangaf, was colorful and filled with joyous mood. In anticipation of an exciting evening adults and children alike poured into the auditorium with broad smiles and sporting the most colorful clothes they have in their wardrobes, adding to festive atmosphere that was present throughout the evening and that went well into the night.

The program began at 6:45PM when all dignitaries and artists were assembled. The national anthems of the two friendly nations Kuwait and India were played at the beginning of the program to the rapt attention of the audience. The MC Mrs madhulika mohta welcomed the gathering and introduced the erstwhile ever smiling and down to earth attitude Guru Jyoti Patel the founder of the famed Dancing Divas an organization that helps children and adults find their steps in dancing in whichever form right from ballot to belle to Indian classical forms.

The Chief Guest of the evening H.E. Shree Sunil Jain who made it in spite of his very tight schedule and guest of honor Mrs. Anju Dheman, Principal of Fahaheel Al-Wataniytya Publich School, Ahmadi were then invited by the MC to light the traditional lamp of light signifying the ushering of joy and happiness into our lives with knowledge and love and affection. The dignitaries along with a host of other elite of Indian community and Kuwait community were invited to the center stage and presented with bouquets H.E. Shree Sunil Jain formally released the Souvenir containing articles from students of Dancing Divas and their parents as well along with a long list of ads from the sponsors who ever willingly lent their support to the grand program entitled Jhoomte Sitare.

In his brief yet enlightening speech H.E. Shree Sunil Jain commended the efforts of Guru Jyoti Patel in her endeavor to provide a wider platform to children to showcase their honed talents in dancing under her expert guidance. He said Jyoti Patel is no less than a missionary doing social service to Indian community in Kuwait in her own way. He also utilized the opportunity to inform the general public that Indian Embassy has improved their services to the public a lot. He said passports are being issued within two days and the visa for foreign nationals are being issue within the same day of application. He also informed that auditorium, with a 350 seat capacity, in Indian Embassy premises is opened to all to conduct their programs at a nominal fee. After other dignitaries spoke they were escorted back to their seats.

The opening dance number was performed in style by pre-senior group. The dazzling light show when the human chariot carrying Lord Ganesh was the highlight of the dance item which was received with a thunderous applause. It was followed up by an excellent piece of classical dance in Bharatanatyam form by Pooja Vasrhini as a tribute to Lord Natraja the guru of all dance forms as per Indian tradition.

Then the main anchor of the show, a standup comedian and winner of the Comedy Circus 2012-2013 and man who conducted as many as 300 shows at a young age of 20 years, Mr. Siddarth Sagar, was invited on to the stage amidst thunderous applause from the audience. He came on to the stage with the famous number Bachno Hasino…from Ranbhir Kapoor film of the same title. He started off with a string of jokes and mimicking famous Bollywood actors. The audience were roaring with laughter as the anchor went through effortlessly with assigned task.

The winner of the Indian Super Star dance competition MJ5, did a superb moon walk dance for a medley song dance number containing bits of famous numbers like Lungi Dance, Kolavari Di, 1-2 ka 4 etc. Their exit was also stylish containing waving of hands in synchronous fashion in a moon walk style. The hit Bollywood choreographer whose You Tube video went viral with almost 100,000 hits on the first day it was released came on to the stage amidst a thunderous ovation from the audience and did few dance numbers and also sang some famous numbers.

There was an item titled India Show where medley of songs were rendered and played with audience involvement. Pungi Bhaja de the famous number of Saif Ali Khan from Agent Vinod were received well by the audience. All kids were on the stage swaying their hips to the famous Rajni number from Chennai Express Lungi Dance. Everybody erupted with laughter and enjoyed when Sahara Air condition representative came on to the stage rendering and dancing to famous numbers.

MJ5 second stunt was a tribute to the great Michael Jackson by dancing his famous steps to the tune of the famous number Hawaa Hawaii from Mr. India. It was unbelievable as they watched them as if flying in formation. Audience couldn’t believe their eyes what they were watching being performed on stage right before their eyes. Amidst raptures of applause from the audience Guru jyoti Patel did some excellent belly dancing upon request from MJ5 group. Then Siddharth Sagar did something extraordinary when he came on tot eh stage clad in a yellow sari. He came amongst then audience and involved them in some gags. Kids were seen laughing away and pulling at him as Sagar too enjoyed.

During the end of the grand show raffle tickets were drawn and some useful items were given away to the winners. Many gifts were distributed to the student of Dancing Divas by the sponsors. Kids also danced to a medley song. Sagar threaded the event superbly by inviting students of Dancing Divas of various age groups interspersing with anecdotes, jokes, mimicking yester year actors like Devanand, Jeevan, Dharmendra and today actors like Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Shah Rukh Khan etc thus exhibiting his versatile talents. As audience were leaving the auditorium satisfaction, contentment and happiness were seen writ large on their faces. Way to go Dancing Divas and salutations to the wonderful lady Guru jyoti Patel for single handedly pioneering the dynamic, dazzling Dancing Divas.
